ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS ENGINEER  -  HR17047

Malawi Telecommunications Limited (MTL) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced Malawian candidates to fill the vacant position of Enterprise Solutions Engineer tenable at its MTL Complex, Blantyre.

Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Solutions, the main purpose of the job is to design, implement and support customised technical solutions for enterprise customers.

The main duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

Customer Solution Design

· Receives and understands service requirements for enterprise customers.

· Advises customers on any changes required at their sites.

· Submits all cost estimates, solutions design and BOQ to Enterprise Solutions Manager.

· Conducts site surveys and follow up with Sales Team after submission of proposal.

· Develops Bills of Quantities for wireless radio sites and technical proposals covering end to end connectivity.

· Designs and draws network architecture diagrams.

· Attends pre-sales customer meetings as and when required.

Solutions Deployment and Service Provisioning

· Assigns and configures VLAN tags for customers.

· Leads, coordinates and follows up with implementation teams for the installation of customer links as and when necessary.

· Provisions of all email, web and any other hosted services as part of customer service deployment.

· Supports customers to ensure that network works with MTL solution.

· Conducts end-to-end service tests to ensure customer satisfaction.

Service Assurance

· Monitor performance proactively, QoS and SLA of assigned customer services and ensure it matches with customer expectations.

· Communicates proactively with customer.

· Receives and acts on NOC and Call Centre communications.

· Updates customers and other stakeholders on MTL services.

Network Resources Management

· Manages the network resources used in fulfilling roles in customer service delivery.

· Requests and receives IP address, VLAN and VPN number assignments.

· Assigns allocated network resources to customer links.

· Maintains a register of assigned numbers for all customer links.

Documentation

· Documents all technical solution designs, network topology diagrams, BOQs, all links and services provisioned and all troubleshooting steps.

· Manages a register of network resources assigned to customer links.

· Submits all documentation to Enterprise Solutions Manager for storage.

Reporting

· Solutions designs and services deployed outstanding and completed weekly reports.

· Resolves any outstanding daily reports.

· Usage reports to customers (as and) when necessary.

The successful candidate should have the following qualifications and attributes:

  • BSc in Telecommunication or in related field or its equivalent plus two years experience.
  • CCNA certification will be an added advantage
  • Should have analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Should have excellent written and oral skills.
  • Be honest and of good integrity.
  • Be results oriented.
  • Good Computer skills.
  • Should be a Team Player.
