Dr Harry Gombachika

Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director for the Malawi Telecommunication Ltd (MTL) since January 6, 2015. Previously, he served as the General Manager (Telecoms) at Press Corporation Ltd, the Director of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, and the Vice Principal, Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Research, Head of Electrical Engineering and Associate Professor of Telecommunication Engineering at The Polytechnic, a constituent College of the University of Malawi.

Dr Gombachika holds a PhD in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Surrey (UK), an MSc in Electrical Engineering (Telecoms) from the State University of New York at Buffalo, a BSc in Electrical Engineering and Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the University of Malawi. He has conducted research projects in application of wireless networks and diffusion of ICT in various communities in developing countries with over 20 publications in referred conferences and journals. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
